How do I publish research as open access?

Answer

University Libraries has agreements with various publishers that permit University of Akron researchers to publish their research as open access. This free open access publishing through the Institute of Physics (IOP), Wiley, Cambridge, and Company of Biologists allows researchers to avoid expensive article processing charges, increase article access, and comply with research funding mandates. Visit the Libraries’ new Open Access Publishing guide for information on these publishing deals and how to use them.

Important - Our group of OhioLINK libraries has reached its article limit for Elsevier for the calendar year 2024. Starting January 1st, 2025, the limit will be reset and articles accepted after this date will have again have the option to publish open access without paying an APC.
